CYCLING

I started riding in September of 2013, after gaining a ton of weight post my minor league football playing days. I raced from 2014 – 2019, but started declining after that due to several family deaths, surgeries and other personal reasons. I was completely lazy during COVID and was riding about 10-20% of my normal annual amount. I have seen been remotivated to start training and competing again. I have been with Team Stages since its inaugural year and am a STRONG supporter of the brand. I am looking forward to doing a few Fondos during the later part of 2023 and a few races to get used to it again then target a full return to racing in 2024.

As mentioned before I started riding in 2013 and was almost immediately “talked” into racing. I have been racing since January of 2014; competed in CAT 5 my first season with Kyle’s Bike Shop (Orlando, FL). My first full year on the bike was quite rewarding – 10+races under my belt, upgraded to CAT 4, completed several Gran Fondos, and even a 170 mile Cross Florida! I am currently a CAT 3, but have essentially been off from training for a few years, so I am going get get a few races in this year to get myself acclimated to the race environment again. I am hoping now that I am a bit old and wiser, I have learned some patience and the concept of sitting in!!!

The Squad (Castelli Collectivo)

Castelli Collectivo is part of the Peak Athletic Collective, a group of endurance athletic teams all centralized under one banner. The Team and Collective are blessed to have some great sponsors and partners. I was part of Team Stages Cycling since its inception, up until our title sponsor was sold. After Team Stages Cycling closed down, I transferred over Castellie Collectivo, although I am not currently competing. The team leadership is awesome, as are my teammates, and I am a firm believer in the Brand and Peak Athletic Collective.
